REQUEST FOR MEDIA CREDENTIALS
Media Credentials will be issued by the RAD Torque Raceway office on a per event basis. Please place request with the RAD Torque Raceway office info@radtorqueraceway.com a minimum of 1 week prior to requested event date. Multiple dates may be requested at one time.
- Media Credential will be held at the Competitor Gate Entry for Pick-up on day of event.
- Media personnel MUST check-in and sign Waiver of Liability upon entry.
- Media personnel MUST check-in with on-site Track Operator upon entry: Contact will be provided upon Credential request approval confirmation.
- Rocky Mountain Nationals: All approved Media personnel MUST check-in with Site Coordinator upon entry to facility- located at Media Room, 2nd Floor Drag Tower.
CREDENTIALS WILL NOT BE ISSUED ON EVENT DAY
EVENT PHOTO & VIDEO GUIDELINES
RAD Torque Raceway has exclusive event photo and video agreements with vendors to exclusively sell photos to racers and fans. No other person may sell or give-away photos and/or videos, including printed, online or social media images.
Preference is given to photographers with “professional grade” equipment and significant experience shooting motorsports, and photographers associated with credentialed media.
Internet sites will only be considered if they cover motorsports on a regular basis and are consistently updated with news and features or are local or tourism-based sites for area in which the event is hosted. Websites must be free from profanity and offensive language.
High resolution images may be printed or posted online only if they are included with comprehensive editorial. Any other website or social media images posted online may not exceed 800 pixels in size.
RAD Torque Raceway may request up to 12 specific event images per event attended which must be provided in high resolution digital form no later than 3 days following event. We may request at any time a copy of any print material that contains your event photography. Provided images should not be watermarked, RAD Torque Raceway will make every effort to provide proper photo credit if used.
The issue of restricted area wristbands and/or vest is not transferable and must be in plain view at all times. Your photo credentials badge is not transferable; you may not give or loan your photo credentials badge to another person for any reason.
The official release and waiver of liability must be signed to receive a restricted photo/video access.
Each Venue (Drag, Road Course, and Oval) has specific approved photo/video designated areas; please see RAD Torque Raceway Race Event Management for specific parameters (issued on a per event basis). Photographers are not permitted in the “hot” Zones or on the racing surface at ANY time.
All Photographers MUST act professionally at all times, refrain from interfering with competition and follow all instructions given by event management staff or run the risk of being removed from the Venue.
Race cars, Crew, and RAD Torque Raceway Staff and Management have the right of way at all times.
If you have been issued a RAD Torque Raceway Event photo credentials, you have a limited, nonexclusive, opportunity to take and use photographs of the event as long as such use does not imply an endorsement or sponsorship relationship between a third party and RAD Torque Raceway, Race participants, and/or RAD Torque Raceway’s partners and supporters.
Credentials and permission to take photos and video and will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Requests for permission must include sufficient information to evaluate the request.
SAFETY APPAREL: All Photographers/Videographers are required to comply with ongoing safety equipment/apparel designated for ‘Crew’; i.e. Long Pants, Close-Toe Shoes, Capped Sleeves (no tank tops). Reflective Safety Vest MUST be worn at all times.
DRONE FLIGHTS
To ensure everyone’s safety, Transport Canada has set rules and regulations for the safe use of drones in Canada. All Pilots must adhere to all legal requirements when flying a Drone Flying your drone safely and legally (canada.ca)
IMPORTANT: you may not fly your unauthorized drone within 5.6 km of the airport. Please Note: RAD Torque Raceway is located at the Edmonton International Airport.
It is important for all pilots – including drone operators – to operate safely in Canadian airspace. You must understand the regulations and take appropriate safety precautions before taking flight. This includes requesting NAV CANADA authorization to fly your drone, or RPAS, in controlled airspace.

RAD Torque Raceway management must receive a copy of NAV Canada approved Drone Flight Plan a minimum of 24 hours prior to scheduled flight time. All Drone Operations must be pre-approved by RAD Torque Raceway management.
You could face serious penalties, including fines or jail time, if you break the rules.
RAD Torque Raceway reserves the right to grant or take away photography and/or video access at any event for any reason at any time. Failure to follow these rules can and will result in immediate loss of restricted access credentials.
